TANK DRIVING TASTER EXPERIENCE

Experience the fun and excitement of driving a genuine 17 tonne tank with a 40mm cannon. The FV432 is a multi-roll track vehicle which has always been the squaddies favourite.

When you arrive you will be introduced to the team and be given a briefing covering the history of the vehicle and the safety issues involved with driving a tank. Next you are issued with military overalls and a helmet so that you look like a soldier.

The first time you drive the tank you will have your head out of the hatch so that you get familiar with how the tank drives. Having gained some confidence you will drive the tank looking only through the periscopes as if you were in a battle situation.

There are a variety of challenging courses to drive over set in a World War II bombing range.

Driver minimum age is 16.
A driving license is not required.
Maximum weight is 22 stone (140kg).
Maximum height is 6ft 4' (193cm). Please allow approximately 1 hour at the venue for the Tank Driving Taster Experience. This experience may be affected by weather conditions. £20 per person subject to availability. Minimum passenger age is 8 years old. As this is an outdoor activity, you are advised to dress comfortably and warmly. Sturdy boots are advisable, as are waterproofs during wet weather. The Tank Driving Taster Experience is available on selected days between April and October. Spectators are welcome at no extra charge. Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months.
