Surfing Challenge

You are going to catch some wicked waves.

Surfing is one of the country's fastest growing sports. You're guaranteed to have the ride of your life at the UK's number one location. Take to the water and see if you have the skill to ride the waves.

Experienced instructors will coach you in the water, helping and encouraging you to learn and develop your skills and gain confidence in the surfing environment.

Your experience includes one or two lessons and hire of all equipment (surfboards and wetsuits are provided).

All instructors are British Surfing Association accredited. They are highly qualified and experienced surfers with SLSA Lifeguard and First Aid qualifications. The school has BSA Level 4 approval (the highest level rating achievable).

• Distribution of equipment
• Morning lesson
• Break for lunch
• Afternoon lesson (for those on double lesson)

Please allow approximately two and a half hours for a single lesson and all day for a double lesson. Participants are advised to bring a swimming costume, towel, waterproof sunblock, sunglasses and warm clothing. All surfing equipment will be supplied. Spectators are welcome to watch from the beach. The Surfing Challenge is available on selected Saturdays and Sundays from April until the end of October, subject to availability.

Town - County: Newquay - Cornwall

Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 25 metres and have a good level of fitness. Participants will be asked to sign a declaration of fitness on the day.

Minimum age is 12. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The weather should not affect this experience, although weather conditions on the day will determine the best surfing location. For your safety, if instructors deem that conditions are unsuitable, you will be given a voucher to redeem at your convenience. Numbers on the day will vary but participants will be split into groups with a maximum of 10 people per instructor. Gift vouchers are valid for 10 months. We endeavour to dispatch vouchers by first class post on the day of purchase when ordered before 3pm.
