Get, your blood pumping with this all action experience as you learn to skid, steer and slide at all action, all angles!
Our Skid Pan training uses only the latest techniques and skills as used from Motorsport instructors and Police Driving.
On this half day course, you will drive a normal unmodified family car under the instruction of a fully experienced championship winning race or rally driver.
Our cars are fitted with special low grip tyres to be driven on a clean water skid pan area, which has been proven to be the most realistic method of learning skid control techniques.
Imagine finding yourself in a skid and losing control of your vehicle at 30mph or even at 70mph!
This is your chance to learn real
(potentially lifesaving) skills to help you handle difficult or unexpected slippery conditions in normal road driving.
Your course will include....
- Anti Lock Brakes Utilisation:
A session driving on our simulated motorway area. Learn how to control the use of ABS (Anti Lock Breaks) for emergency swerve avoidance.
- Skid Control Demonstration:
Your instructor will demonstrate the driving techniques needed for skid control and recovery before you are put in the hot seat!
- Skid Pan Skills:
Master the basics of car control including under steer and over steer. Most modern cars will under steer in the majority of situations and if you know a few basics you can soon get the hang of controlling it. Over steer takes more skill to master but your instructor will show you some tips on how to get the hang of it!
- Anti Lock Braking Demonstration:
Your expert instructor will demonstrate how to maximise the benefits of a car fitted with anti lock breaks.
- Anti Lock Braking Skills:
On this session you will learn how to master the use of ABD (Anti-Lock Breaking System) in an emergency. We set up an avoidance exercise on our simulated motorway to demonstrate just what this system is capable of -if you know how to get the most out of it!
- Skid Pan Skills:
Back on the Skid Pan again, you will find everything more natural and easier. Your instructor will encourage you to let the car slide more and even spin around! This will give you the confidence and techniques needed to bring the car back in control from some seemingly impossible situations.
Itinerary :
- Welcome upon arrival
- Presentation covering what will happen on the day
- Introduction to vehicle dynamics and meet your instructor
- Instructor demonstration of the course with all participants in the vehicle
- Enter the hot seat for one to one instruction for the skid pan training
- At the end of the course you will receive a signed certificate
