RYA SAILING LEVEL ONE
An Intensive Sailing Course
Our team comprises of fully qualified and experienced instructors, coaches and trainers. Our priority is for everyone’s safe enjoyment of our facilities in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We want to maximise your Watersports learning experience in a way that suits you best.
This introduction course is designed for those with little or no sailing experience. It is held over 2 days, from 9.15 to 1.30 each day. Our qualified instructors will guide you though the basics of learning to sail through a combination of on land and on water teaching you will achieve a standard where you are competent and confident enough to sail around a triangular course.
Itinerary :
Day One
- 9.15 Arrive at centre and meet your instructor
- A short on land session covering steering, turning and capsizing
- Take to the water for a very basic sailing exercise
- Recap on the morning's session and go into more detail on techniques
- Another chance to get on the water and practice your skills
Day Two
- 9.15 Arrive at the centre and meet your instructor
- Recap on everything you did the previous day and cover more advanced manoevres
- Take to the water with the aim of being able to sail unaided
- Recap the whole course and cover the final parts of sailing
- Practice under supervision

Participants must bring a swimsuit, towels, sturdy shoes, waterproofs. It is advised that you bring a warm change of clothes and a warm drink. Availability :
RYA Sailing Level One is available on weekends from April to October depending on weather. Notes :
