The British Pullman

The British Pullman carriages were originally used to journey passengers to the ocean-going liners of the 1920's and 1930's. George Pullman who conceived of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express ordered the craftsmen to create carriages that were 'Palaces on Wheels'.

As a result, each carriage is uniquely designed and a work of art in itself - From Exotic Art Deco marquetry and deep velvet tapestry armchairs to Art Nouveau lamp glasses and inlaid mosaic floors.
