You will be welcomed and receive a pre-flight briefing by a Qualified Flying Instructor. Once aboard the dual-controlled training helicopter your flight will commence, and you will have the opportunity to take to the controls if you wish.
You will fly in the agile and manoeuvrable R22( Schweizer 300CB at Bournemouth )Helicopter at head spinning speeds. The R22 has become the the most popular helicopter in the world for initial flight training and you'll find out why. It is an absolute pleasure to fly.
Alternatively, if you would like to take along two friends, take to the skies in the R44 where you can fly the helicopter under the supervision of your instructor whilst your two passengers enjoy the flight (Costock venue only).
This is great fun and could be your first step towards getting your Private Pilot’s Licence.
Itinerary :
- Welcome and briefing on helicopter flying techniques
- A 20 minute, 1/2 hour or full hour Helicopter flight where you will take control and fly the helicopter yourself.
- A de-brief session
Restrictions :
There is a maximum height of 6'4" and a maximum weight of 17 stone for this experience. Some venues ask you to advise them at point of booking if you are over 16 stone/6 ft as this may require another helicopter being used. There will be a charge applicable. Minimum Pilot Age is 12 Years (adult supervision required for under 16s on airfield premises).
You may be asked to show proof of name, address and photo identification on the day.

The Helicpoter flying lessons are available on weekends and selected week days throughout the year.
The 1 Hr Session is not available at Belfast, Belton, Gloucester, Humberside, Leeds, Shobdon, Aberdeen & Bournemouth.
