Family challenge sessions are aimed at families of four, with a minimum age of 10 and where at least one and no more than two participants are over 18. You have a choice of 3 or 4 activities in a session. It is your event and you will not be mixed into teams with other centre users.
After a safety briefing you head out to the first course with your own instructor and get straight down to the activities.
Each participant is given a score card and at the end of the session the winning family member is announced and certificates are given out to all drivers.
The Courses :
Quad Course (youngest participant aged 10 - 12 yrs) - Ride a practice lap, and then see if you can remember how to start the quad bike, ride this tight and twisty slalom course and the reverse park the bike into a bay, against the clock!
Quad Obstacle Course (All participants aged 12+) - Attempt to drive an ATV on this course full of obstacles such as rumble strips, a see-saw, and our infamous limco bar. Can you complete the course without making any mistakes?
Dizzymobile - A most peculiar vehicle, designed and built in our workshops, with two independently-steered axles. What's more, the two steering wheels are incorporated into seats! Co-operation between the two drivers is vital, as each twists and turns on their stool, attempting to manoeuvre the beast through the course marked out with comes.
Rallykart Time Trials - Take control of this mean machine over bumpy off-road terrain, pitting your witts against the clock knowing that every mistake could cost vital seconds!
Blindfold 4x4 Driving (Two and a Half Hour Session) - An activity where communiation is paramount! Can you direct a blindfolded friend or family member around a twisty, hilly section of terrain? Then it will be your turn to follow directions and steer the 4x4 vehicle blindfolded!
Restrictions :
The minimum age is 10 years old and at least one and no more than two participants need to be over the age of 18 years of age.
Duration :
Please allow up to 2 hours or 2 hours and 30 minutes at the venue depending on which experience you choose.
Weather :
Extreme weather conditions may affect the Family Challenge Experience.
Dress :
We recommend that participants wear suitable clothing and footwear for the potentially muddy countryside, and suitable waterproof coats on wet days. Waterproofs available to buy on the day.
Availability :
Courses are available on selected dates throughout the year.Please book early to avoid disappointment.
Spectators :
Spectators are welcome to attend, although there is a maximum of 2 persons per driver.
