FALCONRY EXPERIENCE

This is one of our most popular activities. You will be given an introduction to the ancient art of falconry and birds of prey.

You will have the opportunity to handle and fly a selection of different species such as hawks, buzzards, owls, falcons, eagles and vultures.

Half Day

• Welcome tea / coffee
• An introduction to the ancient art of falconry
• Handle and fly a variety of birds

 

Bird Management Experience Northumberland

• This experience has even more to offer the falconry enthusiast
• Extra activities and plenty more birds of prey to handle
• Also includes involvement in the demonstrations

 

Full Day Experience

• Welcome tea / coffee
• An introduction to the ancient art of falconry
• Handle and fly a variety of birds
• Lunch (provided)
• Handle and fly several more types of birds
• Souvenir photograph of participant holding a bird of prey( Cheshire only).

Open 7 days a week throughout the year from 9.30am-12.30pm. Weekend dates are best booked 8 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. No spectators at Colchester. There may be a charge for spectators on the day at other venues.

Spectators must also be over 14 years of age. Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months. We endeavour to dispatch vouchers by first class post on the day of purchase when ordered before 3pm.

Participants must be over 14 years of age. Minimum age at Hamptworth is 11 (Under 13s must be accompanied by a participating adult).

Please note, the Full Day Experience is not available at Northumberland, Jedburgh or Edinburgh.
Please allow approximately 3 hours for the 1/2 Day, 5 hours for the Bird Management Experience and 7 hours for the Full day Falconry Experience. You should dress according to the weather on the day.
