Duckies are best described as a cross between a white water raft and a kayak. The actual ducky is a bit like a fat inflatable kayak which usually carries two people. They are fairly sturdy little beasts and are often used on the same stretches of water as used for white water rafting. To keep you safe and in control, an experienced white water kayaker will provide safety and guidance alongside you.
These inflatable crafts are easily manoeuvred around the water, enabling you to hit all the rapids on your way down the river.
If you are after an adrenalin rush, it is often better to do it after heavy rain when the rivers can get extremely hairy. During the summer months, the duckies are often used on dam releases to ensure that you get the maximum thrill.
