The
Big Toys Experience offers you the chance to drive the kind of vehicles that you wouldn’t usually get the chance to drive. The kind that where only ever played with as a child, when you would crash them into a toy car set.
Fire Engines, Lorries and of course,
Military Vehicles. Driving any one of these vehicles requires skill and thought. With an experienced instructor by your side, you will have the drive of a lifetime.
These aren’t just
big toys they are great big colossal vehicles for anyone to try! Choose your
Big Toy from one of the following:
- Double Decker Bus: Drive a 10 ton Leyland Atlantean (standing at a colossal 14ft, you’ll have to remember that you have over 31ft of vehicle behind you!).
- Ex-Military Vehicle: Drive a Bedford 4x4 MJ, they are fantastically rewarding to drive.
- Fire Engine: Drive a 13 Ton Dennis or a Scania 82 Fire Appliance.
- Juggernaut: Drive a 40ft Artic Lorry.
Itinerary :
- Welcome & introduction upon arrival
- Briefing on safety & driving techniques
- A one to one session with you driving your chosen vehicle
- Tackle different driving challenges that you would expect when driving these big workhorses
- Have fun reversing your vehicle into coned areas or negotiate some off road obstacles.
- Debriefing & departure
Restrictions :
You must hold a full manual driving licence, be less than 6ft 4" tall and weigh less than 18 stone. You must also be fit enough to enable you to climb into a high cab. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
Duration :
Please allow approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes at the venue for Big Toys Driving Experiences.
Weather :
Extreme weather conditions may affect the Big Boys Toys Driving Experiences.
Please Note :
Depending on your choice of vehicle, you will be either using the tarmac roads at the venue with roundabouts, T-junctions and Slaloms, or some of the 100 acres of off-road terrain that we have available. The route that you are required to drive will be dependent on your ability and experience.
Dress :
We recommend that participants wear comfortable and casual clothing with flat shoes or trainers. The majority of the course will take place inside the vehicle, but there may be occasions when you need to get out of the vehicle to check reversing distances or assist with towing ropes, so we recommend that you also have some warm and waterproof clothing with you.
Availability :
Courses are available on selected dates throughout the year.
Spectators :
Participants are welcome to bring a maximum of 2 spectators free of charge. Any extra spectators are welcome to attend but at a charge of £5 per person (Spectators under the age of 14 can come for free).
If you would like to convert your spectator to a passenger, they will be charged at £10 per person. (Please not this option is available for all vehicles except the Bedford as there is no room for passengers).
