Bird Of Prey Management Course In Northumberland

Our Bird of Prey Management course is aimed at anyone with an interest in Falconry, especially those considering purchasing their own bird of prey.

During the course, you will gain an insight into all aspects of handling, training and working with different Birds of Prey. The Bird of Prey Management Course is designed to give you an all round introduction to Falconry and how to keep a Bird of Prey of your own.

You will learn about how to tie the falconers knot, train a bird for free flight, health and hygiene, correct housing, perches and hygiene.

This is an educational course which will leave you a better knowledge of keeping your own birds of prey.

• Welcome upon arrival at 11am
• A tour of the Centre
• Learn about the falconers knot, fitting and maintenance of swivel, jesses
• Basic bird handling techniques, picking up a bird, weighing a bird and placing the bird back on its perch
• Correct housing, perches, including hygiene etc.
• Basic flying techniques including training methods
• The birds diet, different types of food available and methods of feeding
• Choosing and purchasing a suitable bird
• Depart at 4pm

Please allow approximately 5 hours for the Birds of Prey Management Course. We recommend that participants wear casual dress and walking shoes or boots for the Falconry Experience in Essex. Spectators are welcome to attend, although there may be a charge. This Bird of Prey Management Course is available all year round. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

The minimum age is 14 years old. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This Bird of Prey experience is weather permitting. All gift vouchers are available for 10 months, unless otherwise stated. We endeavour to dispatch vouchers by first class post on the day of purchase when ordered before 3pm.
